Barça and Benfica, first to reach the Final Eight!

The new leaders will probably arrive in the next round, but in the meantime, Barça and Benfica are the first to detach their tickets for the Final Eight in May. Again two more victories for the top teams of Spain and Portugal: the “Blaugrana” won 3-2 at Lodi, in a perfect comeback by portuguese Joao Rodrigues (2 goals in few seconds). Barça is the only one with full points in the WSE Champions League Men. Really solid match for Benfica against Oliveirense with the result 4-2, with four different players in the match report and seven points in the standing, six more than Oliveirense. In Group C where Barça is first, there was another tie between Forte dei Marmi and Valongo Colquimica, this time 3-3. Valongo is ahead in the standings for general goal difference and therefore the last two games will be decisive. In Group A behind Benfica, an exciting tie was born between Deportivo Liceo and Parlem Calafell. Liceo was always ahead but in the last minutes Calafell managed to take the lead with a great goal from Xaus. But in the last 11 seconds, a strong shot by Rodriguez signs the draw 4-4. Everything is still open in the other two groups, even if Porto Fidelidade and Trissino lead the standings with 8 points thanks to the two victories this evening. Porto won in Sarzana 7-3 (first hat-trick from Gonçalo Alves) while Trissino beat Noia Freixenet 9-5 (four goals for Giulio Cocco, new leader among the top scorers). Group D is even more uncertain after the tight 2-2 draw between Reus Deportiu Virginias and Sporting. Barcelos instead won 4-3 on the french rink of Saint Omer reconfirming that they are in the running for qualification. On the next matchday various challenges will ignite the emotion of the European fans and some clubs could get to snatch the ticket for the Final Eight.
