Benfica, Gijon, Liceo, Manlleu are the first qualifiers for the quarter-finals of WSE Champions League Women

The third to last matchday of the group stage already gave four of the eight teams a ticket to the quarter-finals. Benfica in Group D, Gijon in Group C and Manlleu plus Liceo in Group B. Vila-Sana and Generali Palau are also one step away from qualifying, both with five points. after the first wins and two draws between them. Even tonight, like two weeks ago, it’s a 1-1 draw (Fontdegloria and Daiana Silva). Liceo A Coruna defeated French team Noisy Le Grand 7-2 (2 goals for Yanez and Diz), thus eliminating them from the competition and leaving the challenge for first place between Manlleu and Liceo until 18 March. TeleCable Gijon snatches the quarter-finals ticket with 9 points, winning three games out of three, the last one tonight at home against French side Coutras 7-3 (two goals for Almeida and Ferreira but also three goals from Cumella for the French). Same situation as Benfica in Group D, nine points, six more than Cerdanyola, also defeated at home 6-2 (hat-trick for Chilean Flores). To define the other four qualifiers, the last two matchdays will be played on 4 March and 18 March.
