Esneca Fraga is the new European Champion for the first time, after winning the WSE Champions League Final on penalty shots. The balance (1-1 in regular time) was broken by Sanjurjo’s goal and Ferrer’s final save which made Fraga the first Aragonese team to win a European cup.
Another very balanced match, a Final that provided various emotions. Esneca Fraga immediately scored after just 4 minutes with Adriana Gutierrez, a short-range shot. The two teams fought on equal terms throughout the match and the difference was made by the details and the two defences, the best on the rink. Vila-sana Coop d’Ivars missed a direct shot and a powerplay in the first half and in the second half the best chances belonged to Esneca Fraga. However, Luciana Agudo was able to score a goal in the 15th minute of the second half by taking advantage of a favorable ball near the opponent’s goal. The 1-1 tie, took the match to overtime where there were some opportunities but not so dangerous as to decide the match, which will be decided by penalty shots. Only at penalty number 19 is the balance resolved with the goal of the Galician Maria Sanjurjo, after the goals and the equalizer by Gonzalez, Gutierrez, Gomez and Felamini.
