Fraga-Coruña and VilaSana-Palau are the two semi-finals of the WSE Champions League Women

A final day of qualifying for the Final Four that did not spare any surprises. The biggest is the exclusion of Telecable Gijon from the title race. After the title in the Intercontinental Cup, they will not be able to repeat themselves in the WSE Champions League because Vila-sana Coop d’Ivars managed to conquer the unclimbed field of the Asturians who had not lost in over 10 years in Europe. A historic victory for the second consecutive semi-final for the Catalans, claiming the final they lost last year in Lisbon: in addition to Agudo’s qualifying goal (3-1), there were also two goals from Victoria Porta which overturned the 3-2 result of the first leg in favour of Gijon. They will meet another Catalan team in the Semifinal, Generali Palau Plegamans. No surprises at the “Maria Victoria” because Ivan Sanz’s team wins 5-0 against Martinelia Manlleu, repeating the 3-1 success two weeks ago. Three goals from Aina Florenza which will allow them to reach the final stage for the fourth consecutive time.
HC Coruña won with a clear 8-0 against Astro Stuart Massamà’s Portuguese team. With the advantage of two goals, the Galicians immediately tried to close the score by winning their first Final Four for the first time. MVP of the match Alba Garrote, scorer of 4 goals
They will meet Esneca Fraga in the Semifinal, in a semi-final of “firsts”. Historic result not only for Galicia but also for Aragon, because Fraga overturns the result of the first leg and wins 5-0 against Matera, after suffering a 3-2 defeat in Italy. A match won with charisma: the overtaking came already in the first half with two close goals that made the difference. Two goals for Maria Sanjurjo, the best scorer of the game
On 27 and 28 April the WSE Champions League Women Final Four between the four Spanish teams. Game times and venue will be defined in the next few days.
