An annual appointment with the Under 17 European Championships, now in its 41st edition in the men’s tournament, returning to the city of Correggio in Italy after 5 years, where Spain opened a positive streak of four consecutive victories as had already happened from 2001 to 2004. 13 the nations that will participate in this week of European Rink Hockey which will be very special because it will also see the start of the first Under 17 European women’s championship which comes after 7 editions of the European tournament organized throughout the continent which allowed the nations to prepare for this event. Five nations will compete for the first European title: England, France, Germany, Italy and Portugal. For the men’s event, eight nations will be registered: Andorra, England, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland. All eyes will be on Spain who will be looking for a fifth consecutive victory, signing another record, while the rest of the continent will try to oust its hegemony of the latest editions.
The formula of the first U17 Women European championship provides for a single round where the first two classified will give life to the final for the title, gold and silver medal, while the third and fourth classified will fight for the bronze medal which will be played in the evening on Saturday. As for the men, two groups were made based on the last European championship at Noia 2022. Three days of play to define the ranking of the qualifying groups which will serve to define the quarter-final matches (Thursday) and subsequently the semi-finals on Friday evening and the finals on Saturday
Six matches will be played each day from 10am to 10pm and all will be streamed live on WSETV.
