The fateful moment has arrived to start the historic WSE Champions League Men, which has reached its 61st edition. The 12 registered teams, divided into two groups, will face off in a home-and-away round-robin that will determine, at the end of the regular season, the top four ranked teams that will play the Final Eight in May. Compared to last year, there are two new clubs: the Italian Bassano and the Spanish Igualada, the winner of the previous two WSE Cup Men. Precisely, the Spaniards will play all their home games on Wednesdays at 21:00 (CET)
It starts with the European victory both in WSE Champions League Men and in WSE Continental Cup for OC Barcelos, which is experiencing an extraordinary year. On the other side, Sporting CP triumphed in the Club World Cup final in San Juan (Argentina) against Barça.
These are the most anticipated clubs of the season, which will be characterised by five Portuguese clubs (Barcelos, Benfica, Oliveirense, Porto, Sporting), three Spanish clubs (Barça, Liceo, Reus), two Italian clubs (Bassano, Trissino), and one French club (Saint-Omer). The first matchday on Wednesday features Igualada-Porto, but Thursday already features a direct clash between the World and European Champion, between Sporting and Barcelos, and one of the most important Spanish matchups, Reus-Barça.
