Palau, Vila-sana, Cerdanyola and Valdagno are the other four qualified for the quarterfinals

The eight qualifiers for the WSE Champions League quarter-finals were defined tonight, completing the panel of the second phase with one match to spare. The qualifiers are: Generali Palau, Vila-Sana, Martinelia Manlleu, Liceo, TeleCable Gijon, Valdagno, Benfica and Cerdanyola Fenie Energia. However, the pairs have not been defined, it will be necessary to wait for the last matchday to define the two quarter-final matches. Who is 100% sure of the first position are Benfica with 12 points in Group D and TeleCable Gijon with 9 points in Group C. Tonight’s victory of Generali Palau Plegamans against the portuguese Academico Da Feira qualifies the two Spaniards: the final result of 12-1 and four goals by Aina Florenza. In group B, Martinelia Manlleu won 8-1 on the field of the French side Noisy Le grand (hat-trick for Anna Bullò). In Group D, the fourth success for Benfica, winning 10-1 over the French Nantes Loire Atlantique Vendee (hattrick for Maria Sofia Silva and Marlene Sousa). The most important result of the evening was achieved by Valdagno, bringing Italy back among the best 8 in Europe after 5 years. Valdagno prevailed 7-3 (four goals by Elena Tamiozzo) on the rink of the french Coutras, when on the second matchday the French had prevailed 3-2. In two weeks the challengers of the quarter-final matches will be known who will then define the best four who will play the Final Four on 29-30 April 2023. In the Top scorers standing, Catalina Flores (Benfica) is the first with 11 goals, followed by Sousa (Benfica) 10 goals and Roces (Gijon) 9 goals.
