Porto Fidelidade is the winner of the WSE Continental Cup

Porto returns to lift a trophy after the WSE Champions League victory in May: this trophy has been missing from the Portuguese trophy showcase since 1987.
A very intense Final at the Pavellò D’esports Victoria Oliveiras de la Riva, although there were several important occasions in the match. Porto took the lead with a tap-in from Gonçalo Alves after Voltregà failed to take advantage of a direct shot and a powerplay. Instead, they take advantage of it two minutes after the lead because Burgaya doesn’t miss the chance to score with the direct shot. A game well played by both teams but also several errors in the attacking phase, which did not appear very clear. The pace slows down as the minutes pass, in front of the sold-out on the venue, there is no shortage of opportunities but precision is lacking. Precision found by Porto in the 13th minute: yet another strike from Alves and in the center of the area Nunes deflected the ball into the net. Captain Alves reaches for the cup in the 17th minute when he scores the penalty shot. Two moments of extreme intensity hit the Ares team: in just under a minute Burgaya and Teixido managed to equalize the score (3-3) with two individual plays. We are 105 seconds from the end but Porto’s next attack makes it 4-3, marking the goal victory 76 seconds from the end of the match. Nunes with an empty net brings the result to 5-3, thus making Porto’s new captain, Gonçalo Alves, lift the trophy, for the second time for the Portuguese club.
