Portugal won the first under 23 trophy, winning the penalty shots. An absolutely exciting game, where Spain seemed to be on the verge of victory, but instead the Lusitanians tied 3-3 at the end of the regular times. A goal for Honorio (Top Scorers of the Championship) and Cervera, but the penalties decided the trophy. The penalties of Santos and Viti were decisive. France won a historical Bronze medal, defeating Italy 4-3. Another tough final, but the French won the game in the second half, with the goals of Landrin, Thebault and Garcia, when Italy was in the lead. Fifth place for Suisse, gaining the position when they beat England and Germany in the direct clash. Sixth place for England, thanks the morning’s victory for 2-0 against Deutschland. Sixth for England and seventh for Germany.
