The second round of the WSE Euro Women was underway in Olot and there was no shortage of surprises. After yesterday’s 7-0 victory against England, Oller’s team was beaten 3-0 by Germany. The German team immediately influenced the pace of the match, thanks to the two initial goals from Zech and Tolk. Switzerland reacts but is unable to overcome the good German defense which maintains the 2-0 lead throughout the match, scoring the third at the end of the match. The Group B standings now see Germany and Switzerland on 3 points, and tomorrow’s match (15:30) between England and Germany will be decisive. Spain won again in group A, another excellent performance from Munoz’s team, which dominated from the first minute. France managed to contain the pounding offensive phase for 30 minutes (0-1), then suffered the Spanish attack, finishing the match with the result of 1-8 where Sara Roces score 5 goals, becoming the new top scorer of the WSE Euro Women (4 for Florenza and 3 for the italian Lapolla)
Exciting tie between Italy and Portugal. 1-1 at the end of the first half, then Portugal (2 goals from Ines Severino) extended the lead to 3-1, but Italy did not lose hope and in the last seconds managed to equalize with two goals from Tamiozzo, the last one was just 10 seconds from the end. Both gain a point in the standings while Spain rises to 6. Portugal will face France (18:00) while Spain will face Italy (20:30) in the match that will decide the first place in Group A.
