The first finalist is Spain, gaining the 12th point and the mathematical presence in the Gold Medal Final. A match dominated by Maria Diez’s girls against the last in the table England and a victory with the largest result of the European championship, 12-0. Elsa Salvaña confirms herself as a top scorer with 9 goals to her name, and three scored on this evening full of goals. Two goals also for Roldan, Costa and Matas, while one goal for Besa, Ferrer, Vila.
Portugal is the second finalist of the women’s tournament. A one-sided match for the Portuguese against Italy. A whole series of attacks that the Italian defence, just like against Spain, had managed to contain. Two fatal errors for Italy, which Portugal exploited well, scoring the two decisive goals with Monteiro and Folgado.
A whirlwind of emotions in the match between Germany and France where fourth position and therefore access to the Bronze Final was up for grabs. France seemed to be more dangerous, taking the lead through Hilliot, but some defensive problems in the second half proved almost fatal. Molet and Simon scored the goals to make it 1-1 and 2-1, but the hope of victory didn’t come, because Rastello scored the 2-2 two minutes from the end. In the play-off, in case of a tie in the standings, France wins with only one direct shot scored, but there are still 40 minutes to play.
