Spain remains alone at the top of the qualification phase

Portugal and France fail to keep pace with the reigning champions. Portugal was held to a 1-1 draw by Germany, in an extraordinary performance by goalkeeper Kusterameling, but also by the German attack. The home team is still in second place because France was defeated 7-2 by Spain in the first high-ranking head-to-head (2 goals for Da Silva and Vila).
