Sporting-Porto and Barcelos-Oliveirense are the Semi-finals of WSE Champions League Men

Four Portuguese clubs are among the best four in Europe again this year: two are confirmed, Porto and Oliveirense and two return among the best four, Sporting and Barcelos. The Semi-final of the WSE Champions League Men will be Sporting-Porto and Barcelos-Oliveirense which will be played on 11 May 2024 at a venue to be defined and the European final on 12 May 2024.

The last act of the Quarter Finals was once again a roller-coaster of emotions on all the rinks.
The first to punch their ticket to the Final Four was OC Barcelos, a perfect match at Da Luz which didn’t allow Benfica to make a comeback. In the first half they closed at 0-3 and the match ended at 1-5. Two goals from Morais, but also four players on the scoresheet which allows them to go through with the result 9-3.
The second to qualify was Sporting CP: a super-Barça praised by over 5000 people at the PalauBlaugrana was not enough to overcome the Portuguese. The Catalan team wins 5-4 but it’s not enough after the three-goal deficit in the first leg. A match full of emotions, where the Spaniards were close to equalizing the series, twice at -1. Two goals for Bargallò, but Sporting scored with four players, Platero, Verona, Font and Bessa.
The third qualified is FC Porto Fidelidade. A game full of goals and rapid changes of the ball, but from the middle of the second half Porto once again took the lead decisively, after Lodi had managed to get to 5-4. The match ends 9-4, repeating the three-goal lead from the 1st leg. Three goals from Carlo Di Benedetto but seven players got on the scoresheet.
UD Oliveirense Simoldes was the fourth qualified. There was no shortage of emotion even in the last quarter-final, decided in the last 4 final minutes. Trissino was in the lead for almost the entire match, but in the last 4 minutes Oliveirense Simoldes managed to perform two “hockey spells” with Cardoso and Navarro and managed to overturn the game. From 3-5 to 6-5, allowing two more goals for the Portuguese. MVP of the game Xavi Cardoso scored four goals.
