The Rink-Hockey Technical Commission of WSE Europe has defined the program of the two WSE European Championships of the categories Under 17 Men and Under 17 Women. The two competitions will be played in Olot (Spain) in the Pavellò Municipal d’Esport “Josep Jou” in the same rink of the recent WSE Senior Women European Championship. Seven matches will be played on the rink adjacent to the main rink of the sports complex to optimize the large number of matches that will be played.
There will be 15 teams playing in this European Championship, 9 in the Men’s Championship, 6 in the Women’s Championship and the way it will be held will also be different.
The Under 17 WSE European Championship Women will be played in a single all-against-all group where the ranking over the five matchdays will define the clashes for the finals on Saturday. The teams registered are England, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain. Safeguarding eventual cases of classificatory draw, at the end of each match that finished with a tied result, the execution of direct free hits will be performed.
In the Under 17 WSE European Championship Men, however, the nine national teams will have three phases of play, two qualifications and one playoff. The first qualifying phase involves dividing the nine national teams into three groups, based on the results of the last European Championship in Correggio (Italy). After the first two matches, a second phase of two more matches will be played for each team, in which the playoffs will be defined successively, with quarter-finals, semi-finals from 1st to 4th place, two 5/6th place finals and the classification group from 7th to 9th place.In this second phase the teams will again be divided into three groups based on the starting group they belong to and the points collected in the first two matches. The registered national teams are Austria, England, France, Italy, Israel, Germany, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland.
All matches will be broadcast live on our streaming platform europe.worldskate.tv while the WSE Rink Hockey social networks will follow all the matches with the planning, results and interviews during the two competitions.
