The U17 Men European Championship in Inline Hockey celebrated a successful premiere in Waterford, marking an important milestone for the development of youth inline hockey across Europe. Eight national teams competed in the modern SETU Arena, delivering a high‑quality tournament characterized by intensity, tactical maturity, and impressive individual performances.
The Czech Republic claimed the European title with a commanding 8–4 victory over Slovakia in the final. After conceding an early goal, the Czech team took control of the game, dominating through strong forechecking and clinical finishing.
In the bronze medal match, Italy secured third place with a narrow 5–4 win against France. The game featured several lead changes and outstanding goaltending on both sides, making it one of the most exciting encounters of the tournament.
The placement games also delivered plenty of drama: Slovenia defeated Great Britain 3–2 in overtime, while Belgium earned seventh place with a 2–0 win over the host nation Ireland.
The first‑ever European Championship held in Ireland was supported by a dedicated local organizing committee, whose professionalism and commitment ensured a smooth and successful event.
