With just minutes to go before the end of the WSE Champions League Men stage group, the adrenaline starts to rise to look for participation in the Final Eight from 5 to 7 May. Two of the eight places available have already been booked by Barça and Benfica, on the strength of their sum of points conquered in four of the six rounds. Barça will have the home match at the PalauBlaugrana against Valongo Colquimica, in a full fight against Forte dei Marmi to go through, after the double tie between the two runners-up. In Group C, the game between the two Italians, Lodi-Forte, seems to be one of the most awaited matches of Thursday evening, as Forte needs the three points to keep the door to qualification open. Instead for Group A, where Benfica is leading by 10 points, they will face Deportivo Liceo, second in the standings, at Da Luz, in deferred competition with Oliveirense Simoldes who host Parlem Calafell, still not completely eliminated from the competition but that needs a victory to get back in the race, precisely to the detriment of the Portuguese. The most awaited match, however, will be the one between Reus Deportiu Virginias and Barcelos, divided by just one point in the rankings. In the 1st leg the portugueses won for 3-1, and now waiting for the answer from Reus, first in the standings but not yet qualified. Sporting CP, on the other hand, hosts the fearsome French SCRA St-Omer, not yet arithmetically out of qualification. Instead, Porto Fidelidade and Trissino have two match points to snatch two of the next tickets for the Final Eight. In the case of victory for both, respectively against Noia Freixenet and Gamma Innovation Sarzana, they will be mathematically qualified, but the two opponents are absolutely not to be underestimated.
